James Hill is a Director of Construction for FaverGray and has been with our company for more than seven years.
Tell us a little about yourself.
Texas born & raised with 3 younger brothers. US Navy veteran stationed in Peral Harbor, Hawaii as a 2nd class Boatswain Mate & Master at Arms [ships policeman]. Have had the pleasure to visit over 14 countries & have lived in over 12 states within the USA. Love music & play the guitar! Have won over 22 Trophies pitching horseshoe & still enjoy pitching a shoe every now & then.
What is your education/certification background?
Graduated from the school of hard knocks!!!
Tell us about some of your previous work experience.
Started in the industry working for my dad as a labor on a 6 story commercial building in downtown Austin, Texas: Worked my way up to be a journeyman carpenter and own my own business building custom homes. Have held many trade licenses and started working multifamily in the late 90’s.
Why did you join the FaverGray Team?
I was informed it was the best construction company; so I had to see for myself!…Glad I did!
What is your favorite part of your career?
Being able to see our company grow and being part of that growth. Being able to teach some of our young inexperienced individuals & watch them become successful.

Our team manages the construction of all multifamily developments.

What advice would you give to someone interested in a career in construction?
Give it your all & learn everything you can; you won’t regret it!!!
Who inspires you?
Those whom have paved the road before me so my path can be whatever I want it to be!!!
How do you define success?
Giving everything you got day after day to make a difference & being able to face challenges head on! Knowing failure doesn’t mean you have failed; it only means you’re learning!

Play guitar & sing: Landscape & gardening: Love to organize
