TEAM SPOTLIGHT: ELISSA NALSEN, OFFICE MANAGER

TEAM SPOTLIGHT: ELISSA NALSEN, OFFICE MANAGER

Elissa Nalsen is our Office Manager and is celebrating five years with FaverGray in February.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I was born in Venezuela, grew up in Barbados and I am finally a happy and proud US citizen.

What is your education/certification background?

I’m a Veterinarian that specialized in large animals but I have not practiced for some time.

Tell us about some of your previous work experience.

Before FaverGray I was managing a restaurant in Orlando and prior to that, I was the Personal Assistant for the Chairman/CEO of a varied group of companies specializing in tourism and based in Barbados.

Why did you join the FaverGray Team?

Because my aunt and uncle are friends with Jim and Keith and they found out that the previous Office Manager was leaving so they suggested I send in my resume and here I am!

What is your favorite part of your career?

Getting to interact with everyone in and out of the office. I am not confined to my chair and I think that’s great because I don’t like to be seated all day long.

In a few words, describe what you/your team does for FaverGray.

Keep it organized (most times, there are times when I am running around and things get a bit crazy), keep the supplies up to date and the building in running order.

What word do you think best describes our company culture?

Crazy but fun.

What advice would you give to someone interested in a career in construction?

Be dedicated and thorough.

Who inspires you?

Many people, but especially the ones who break away from the system and make a life of their own with all of its ups and downs.

How do you define success?

Love what you do and getting paid for it.

What do you do for fun/hobbies?

Cook and go to the beach.

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.

I love driving. You can catch me driving, listening to music, and jamming in my car any day of the week.

Where is the best place you have traveled to?

Italy, Venice to be more specific. We were there for 3 days and it wasn’t enough. I think 2 weeks would be good to get lost and explore it all.

What is the next place on your travel bucket list?

Spain.

Who are three people (living or deceased) that you’d like to host for a dinner party?

I can’t really think of anyone at this moment, one would at least be my (step)dad that passed away last year.

What is your motto or personal mantra?

Be kind, helpful and happy.
