COMMUNITY

As a Jacksonville-based firm founded by Jacksonville natives, FaverGray is committed to contributing back to the community.

In particular, FaverGray founders Jim Gray and Keith Faver have given time and money to Wolfson Children’s Hospital’s “Patrons of the HeARTS” program, which brings underprivileged children from developing countries who are suffering from complex congenital heart problems to Jacksonville for treatment.

Gray’s son, Adam, was born with aortic stenosis, a form of congenital heart disease. He had open-heart surgery when he was six weeks old at University Medical Center (now Shands Jacksonville) to correct his condition, and is now a healthy 24-year-old. The University of Florida Pediatric Cardiovascular Center is now based at Wolfson Children’s Hospital and includes pediatric cardiology and cardiovascular surgery services.

Gray became familiar with Patrons of the HeARTS through the foundation’s founder, Jose Ettedgui, MD, who is Adam’s cardiologist.

“We wanted to get involved with a cardiology support system that had an international impact,” says Gray. “It’s a great cause. What we’ve really enjoyed is the fact our donation goes to a specific child and that we get to meet the children we sponsor and see them go through the process of being treated for their heart condition.”

FaverGray is the Title Sponsor for Artscapade 2008, a Mystical Spectacle, Patrons of the HeARTS’ annual fund-raising event.
